The New English High School: A New kind of High

Community News 2011-06-17 12:09:29

The New English high school was established in the year 1991 to impart quality education from classes I to X for their children. This school was the brainchild of the Panchwadi Education Society – a dynamic group of locals from Curchorem, committed to the cause of improving education in their vicinity.
All good things begin small and the school was no exception. The dream of imparting quality education started with a small classroom and staff in a rented house at Mapa. In 2010, the school found a keen collaborator in Fomento Resources and plans for development and improvement of facilities were underway.
The new development began with the distribution of notebooks, dictionaries, umbrellas, uniforms, monsoon gear, a clean water cooler and last but not least the implementation of Fomentos GJP (Gyan Jyothi Puraskar scholarship) to the school students.
Headmaster - Mr Shivanand Gaonkar and the children in their new school campus.
In 2011, the students are the proud inhabitants of a new building with a computer and science lab and a library.

Mr. Shivanand Gaonkar - headmaster and one of the founder members of the school enthused about the new developments:”The belief shown from all our collaborators have helped us move forward despite major difficulties.”
