Asmita is busy being cheerful at the Fomento Resources dispensary at Morcanni, Cuddegal.  A young nurse of 18 years, Asmita performs the administrative jobs at the dispensary. The daily tasks of her job include keeping the centre spotlessly clean, organizing the patients medical records and assisting the visiting doctors in conducting health check ups.
Despite having grown up, not too far away from the dispensary, the journey from her home to the health centre was a long one. Asmita lost her mother when she was only 13 years of age. She had no choice but to drop out of school and raise her 10 year old sister Aashwini. Tragedy struck the girls a few years later, when they lost their father. At the tender age of 14, Asmita had to find a job to provide not only for Aashwini, but six more relatives. The year was 2008 when Asmita first applied and got a job at the local dispensary, built by Fomento Resources.
Asmita began as a trainee nurse at the Morcanni dispensary and is today, a full fledged nurse. Her initial employment package included a stipend of six hundred rupees for the education of her sister. The young Aashwini has today, won accolades as a gifted student and is currently studying in the seventh standard. She participates in sports and extra – curricular activities. Her dream is to become a teacher and prevent girls from dropping out of school
