Many Streams One river

“We may come from different streams, but we are one river”.
 
Employees of Fomento Resources, reiterated the commitment of the Fomento family of recognizing diverse life forms, by celebrating and observing the ‘World Environment Day 2010” at its ‘Cuddegalivoril Soddo Iron Ore Mine’, in Sanguem, South Goa, on June 6th 2010.
 
The theme for ‘World Environment Day 2010’ “Many Species, One Planet, One Future’, was in the context of this year being declared as the International Year of Biodiversity. The day was observed to mark the importance of diverse life forms for and to remind all of the duty to safeguard the environment and reduce the loss of biodiversity.
            
To create awareness amongst the employees, boards with slogans towards the better conservation and protection of natural resources such as water, forest, trees, air, food, were displayed at the mines. These boards and posters were drawn by the employees and students of the nearby villages.
 
 

The celebration was marked by the plantation of fruit bearing trees in the office campus of the Greater Ferromet (100% EOU) and Cuddegal Mines. All the officers and workers participated in the event.
