Fomento Resources opens 18th health clinic in Cudnem
On August 15th 2010, Fomento Resources further augmented their health care facilities in by opening a new health clinic at Cudnem village in the Bicholim Taluka in North Goa. The alliance of Fomento Resources - the largest provider of health care in Goa, after the state government, supports the operations of 17 dispensaries in the state. The Cudnem clinic is the 18th addition to these health care lifelines, set up to enable villagers in remote locations to receive health care. The Cudnem dispensary is open on all days of the week from 9am to 1pm.
The alliance had responded to the health needs of the village, expressed the village sarpanch (elected head of the local village government) - Mr Navin Palkar. Mr Palkar, conveyed that a clinic was necessary, since the residents had to previously endure a 15 kilometre walk to reach the nearest health clinic at the Bicholim taluka headquarters.
Present at the inaugural function were the sarpanch of Cudnem – Mr Navin Palkar (also chief guest for the function), Dr Vasant Nadkarni - one of Fomento Resource’s senior doctors and senior officials of Fomento Resources - Mr Narayan Prasad, Mr Srinivasan and Mr Yugal.
The clinic has already begun serving the community. On day one, three patients turned up followed by 30 on day two.
