The villagers of Shigao in North Goa who were bereft of any health clinic, gymnasium and library will no more have to look beyond their village. All these three facilities were inaugurated on December 13, 2011 in the Community Centre set-up by Fomento Resources.
A retired teacher from the village Mr Govind Naik inaugurated these facilities in presence of the Sarpanch (Village Head), Mr Sandip Dessai, Zila Parishad (District Body) Member, Ms Rashmi Lambore, senior officials of Fomento Resources and villagers, including school-going kids.
The villagers, including their leaders, thanked Fomento Resources for providing them these basic facilities. “We are happy to see that the Health Clinic and the gymnasium will help us keep a healthy body while the library will help us develop a healthy mind,“ said the Sarpanch, Mr Dessai, in his thank you note.
Dr Darshana Naik is now in-charge of this Community Centre and will look after the health of the community in Shigao.
