The Missionaries of Charity is a home for the elderly, supported by Fomento Resources. The home is operated by the sisters of the Congregation of The Missionaries of Charity and is located in the village of Carambolim. The home provides medical assistance to all seventy residents including ‘occupational therapy’ by a resident therapist. The home receives regular visits from professional doctors who provide prescriptions at no extra cost. Basic necessities such as clothes, bed sheets, walking sticks are provided for the residents by the committed group of workers. Future plans for the Missionaries of charity include a work program for teaching youth from the village of carambolim.
